I want to share with you a collection of multipurpose mineral powders from a local brand  in the Philippines that offers mineral make-up. It’s been upfor a number of years now. It’s none other than Ellana!

Honeybunch – pale brownish peach frost

For me this is more matte than frosted. The shade is very close to my skin color you can barely see it.

Inspiration – golden beige frost

I asked for a neutral e/s that’ll brighten up my eyes. This was the one suggested to me. And well, it really does!

Siren – yellow golden brown shimmer

One of my favorite! The perfect blend of yellow, gold and brown.

Brilliance – pure bronze satin

The description says it all. I don’t know any other way to describe it.

Embrace – golden coffee brown high shimmer

This is a nice brown shade. It is really high in shimmer and I love it!

(swiped only twice)

Ashen –  ash gray frost

Definetly ash-grayish! I swiped too much that’s why it appears darker. There’s also a hint of blue shimmers.

Dream – white frost
Well, it’s white and it’s frosted.

Sensational – iridescent white gold (white shifting to gold) highlighter

This is my first ever Ellana MMP! I love two tones too!

Twinkle – bright sunny gold frost

I first got a hold of this when Ms. Shen of Shen’s Addiction gave me a sample way back last year, even before Twinkle was in catalogues. (Thanks Ms. Shen!) This color spells happy and gay!

Felicity – pale gold with green shimmer

Not as bright as Twinkle. The green shimmers compliment the shade well.

Polished – khaki green shimmer

For me it’s more like a green gold-ish shimmer. A very wearable green shade.

Posh – pale pink shimmer

This is the pink version of Dream.

Adore – iridescent pink frost (white shifting to pink) highlighter
Another favorite of moi! Just look and you’ll see why!

Desire – light coral pink frost

This is a nice everyday color that says, “Hey! My eyes are pretty but they’re prettier with e/s on!”

Crush – flower pink frost

Flower pink with pink frost (Yes, I’m getting redundant. I know… 🙂 )

Belle – baby pink frost

For me it’s like a matte baby pink shade with hint of blue/white shimmers.

pale plum frost
Just think about your “MyGel pen in Metallic Violet” that you owned in highschool.

Femme – pale plum frost

Just think about your “MyGel pen in Metallic Violet” that you owned in highschool.

Joyful – lavender with pink shimmer

My topmost favorite! It has everything I ever wanted! It’s:

  • lavender
  • pink
  • shimmery
  • two – toned (because of the pink shimmers)

Here’s what I think about Ellana’s Multipurpose Mineral Powders:

  • very pigmented
  • lasts long (if you apply it wet, or with cream e/s as base, or with an e/s primer)
  • a little goes a long way
  • it’s mineral makeup
  • it’s multipurpose
  • it’s great for my very sensitive skin
  • can be also bought online
  • very affordable (more than your money’s worth!)
  • made locally (love pinoy!)

  • it can get messy since it’s powder
  • unlike pressed eyeshadows, you really need to have a base or primer before using it

Before I forget…

I asked Ms. Coney what their bestselling multipurpose mineral powders are and here’s the list that she gave me:

  1. Ethereal
  2. Raven
  3. Dream
  4. Posh
  5. Honeybunch
  6. Polished

You should come and visit their sales office at Room 402 West City Plaza, 66 West Avenue, Quezon City. It’s just a ride away from SM North EDSA. Their personnel are very kind and accommodating. They will be of great help. You can also check their website here and their facebook account here.

I have some other multipurpose minerals that aren’t included in this post. I will share it next time!

Ellana is L-O-V-E!

Beach? Boracay!!!

Hi everybody! Back to reality. Back to work/school. 😦

Rewind a couple of weeks back… So, how was your vacation? I bet you enjoyed every single minute of it!

I spent Christmas together with my mom and dad at Boracay, Aklan. Every Christmas our whole family goes on vacation but last year, it was impossible for the whole fam to join.

First, the flight. Our airline was Cebu Pacific, Manila – Caticlan; departure: 2:40pm. To make the long story short, our flight was 3 hours delayed and instead of landing at Caticlan Airport, we landed here:

Kalibo Airport

So we still have to take a 2-hour bus ride to reach Caticlan, board a boat going to Boracay then ride a tricycle going to the beach. We were delayed for a total of 6 hours!

We shopped on the first day. There are lots of familiar, as well as native shops, at Boracay. They have “D’ Mall” where the branded and familiar shops are, and “D’ Talipapa” where the stores of most local entrepreneurs are. There are also many sidewalk vendors and local people who walk around selling souvenirs and accessories. We did some a lot of “shop till you drop” – ing.

We did some island hopping but the weather was bad so instead of checking out 3 islands, we only “hopped” into one.

Crystal Cove Island

Open sea!

This guy is selling coconuts using his makeshift boat!

I was really excited to try parasailing. You’ll ride a parachute and a speedboat will pull it. Too bad the wind was so strong, parasailing was not allowed that time. The waves away from the beach were big and the wind was strong but besides that, the weather was good.

Looks so much fun!

Another activity that we tried was helmet diving. You’ll walk underwater, about 12 feet deep, wearing a 25kg helmet (it’ll get lighter when you’re in the water) which is open by the way, but not to worry because the water will only be up to your shoulders. I tried walking. Maybe that’s how it feels like when walking on the moon! Haha!

We already visited Boracay a couple of years ago. Zorb is a must try! You’ll be harnessed inside a big ball and you’ll go rollin’ down the hill! 🙂

That's the ball and they're gonna push it down there! (Can't gain this much weight anymore :c)

You can also drive an ATV and tour the island.

Life starts at night. Parties, food, alcohol, fireworks, fire dancers and more!

Mongolian Eat All You Can!

Fire Dancing

Did some “At Boracay Only” makeovers…

Henna Tattoo

hair braid

hair braid!

Do I still have to mention how gorgeous the beach is?

Sorry, can't help but pose! 🙂

Boracay is one of the best beaches in Asia!

I love the place so much, I’m coming back with my friends this year!!! 🙂

What’s Up In Wang Lai Mart

About 3 weeks ago, I accompanied my mom to check out something at Banawe, Quezon City. Since I  was also running out of my Missha BB Cream, we passed by Wang Lai Mart.

Wang Lai Mart is owned by Miss Bon of wehaveit43, my trusted BB cream online store. I’ve been buying from her for almost 2 years but I have never visited her shop, until now.

If you ask me, I’ll categorize Wang Lai Mart as an Asian random shop. They sell food, school supplies, eating utensils, Hello Kitty and other Sanrio products, footwear and clothes for babies and adult, bags, skin products, and other random stuff.

We ended up doing a little shopping! I wasn’t able to get a shot of the things my mom got. (She got more!)

A closer look at what I got!

Black Studded Heels (400php) – My first real pair of heels! I never wear high heels like these but these were very comfortable and fits me perfectly so I got it! Plus, it was only 400php!

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream (900php)My 3rd tube of Missha! I like it compared to L’egere and Colour Collection’s BB Cream. This is the perfect BB Cream for me.

My old and new Missha BB Cream (inside the box)

Little Twins Stickers (150php)Look at how cute they are! No 2 stickers are alike! I use stickers when I teach children how to play the piano. I put a sticker on my student’s piano piece if he/she has mastered and played the piece well.

Middle part of the sticker board

You can color the back part of the sticker board!

You should try buying from Wang Lai Mart or wehaveit43!

Wang Lai Mart is located at 876-D Banawe Street, Barangay Siena, Quezon City. Opens Monday – Saturday, 9:30am – 9:00pm.

Lesson Learned From Shopping

When shopping, do you check the items you’ve selected before paying for it and/or before going home? I do, more often than not. And how lucky I was when I forgot to check the products I bought, I brought this home…

Etude House WH 702 TESTER!

Yup, I paid for that and brought that home! It was the sales associate (SA) who took the item from the rack and placed it in my basket. It may be the SA’s responsibility to help customers have a hassle-free and convenient shopping experience but it’s the customer’s responsibility to check all her purchases, right? So, I called up at once the branch where I bought this and gave all the information they asked for. They were really very sorry for what has happened and offered to exchange the product for a new one. I just have to go back to their shop and bring the nail polish I brought home. I wasn’t mad or anything, but of course, I got stressed.

It was an honest mistake. The SA who assisted me was really kind and accommodating. Also, I think she was a new SA in training. I hope she wasn’t scolded by her boss, or worse, fired. I still want her to assist me when I go shopping again at Etude House.

So guys, before going home from shopping, don’t forget to always check your purchases, okay? I sure did learn my lesson the hard way!

Etude House Tightening Essence Mask

Hello Readers!

In my post here, I have mentioned one of Etude House’s Essence Masks. The other night, before going to sleep, I tried it.

Etude House’s Tightening Essence Mask comes in a simple pink and white packaging.

As you can see, most texts are in Korean but instructions were also written in English.

Instructions on how to use the mask

The mask is neatly folded inside. It covered my face pretty well. It smells like wet wipes.

When put on my face, there was an immediate cool/minty feel. After a few minutes, as the mask started to dry, my face began to feel a little tighter. I left it on my face for a good 30 minutes although the instruction only said 15-20 minutes. I assume that an extra 10 minutes won’t do any harm, right? I did not put any product on my face after using this.

When I woke up the next morning, there is still a mild tight feeling and my face felt fresh and smooth too! 2 days after using the mask, my face still felt smooth.

What it looks like inside

Before using the mask, my enormous pores looked like these. These pictures were taken after I washed my face and applied toner.

gigantic pores

After using the mask, these were how my pores looked like. If you look closely, there is indeed a slight difference!

gigantic pores got a bit smaller!

This mask truly helps! I believe that this mask is effective but there may not be immediate and permanent obvious results. I will use this together with other products for better and faster results.

For sure, this mask is not the last I’ve tried from Etude House! 🙂
