Thank you!

Hello! Do you remember the organic shampoo and conditioner that I mentioned in this post? I’ve been using these for a couple of weeks now.

Organic Rituals: (L) Conditioner and (R) Shampoo

My attendant made me try this because she said the duo was really wonderful, and she was right! When I tried them back then, it was like I was starring in a shampoo and conditioner commercial! Lol!

While rinsing off the shampoo on my hair, I was so amazed I mumbled “Oh, my gosh!” inside the shower. Next, I tried the conditioner and I was even more amazed I quietly shouted “Sh*t!”. I was really surprised at how good they were and mind you, I very seldom make those expressions. 🙂

I asked the receptionist if I can buy their shampoo and conditioner. She looked for a clean and empty container and filled it with the shampoo. Maybe they ran out of shampoos for sale? The conditioner that she gave me was the one displayed on the rack.

Organic Rituals' Shampoo. It was sliding on my wrist.

Organic Rituals' Conditioner

Here are my observations:

  • Organic!
  • Way, way, way cheaper than other brands! Shampoo: 200php and Conditioner: 250php. Others cost more than 1,000php!

On the first wash,

  • The conditioner was so easy to rinse off from my hands.
  • My hair was tangle free and very smooth, even after using only the shampoo. Using the conditioner afterwards multiplied the effects.
  • My hair was so easy to comb.
  • My hair became softer, bouncier, shinier, and less dull.
  • Does not make my hair oily.
  • Does not weigh down my hair.
  • Drying time is shorter compared to when I use regular shampoo and conditioner.
  • Dandruff softened and were removed from the scalp. (So it strayed on my hair. 🙂 )

After several washes,

  • No more visible dandruff!
  • Less hair fall.
  • Hair looks healthier.

  • I have to use more shampoo products to make it bubbly.
  • It would be better if they put some description about the product or list of ingredients used.
  • The shampoo scent reminded me of the Bazooka Bubble Gums I had when I was young and the conditioner was like virgin coconut oil + olives. I like the scent, I just hoped that the smell would be stronger a bit. If ever that’s possible, because these were supposed to be organic products.
  • Only available at Organic Rituals.

1st time to try organic shampoo and conditioner and I’m loving it! 🙂

If you have the chance, try them!

Please take note that most of my observations were compared to regular shampoos and conditioners. My observations, comments, and suggestions were based on hair products in general and not specifically to organic hair products only.

Thank you!

While killing time at the mall, I decided to check out Pink Box. Pink Box is a store that sells cute stuff. They mainly sell accessories but they also have some cute notebooks, pens, and charms. They also offer personalized bracelets, necklaces, key chains, and the like. I think Pink Box is the “accessories version” of Etude House! They also have pink baskets for shopping!

Pink Box plastic bag

I got these!

Red Ribbon Headband!

This cute red headband only costs 79.75php! Just a reminder, if you’re going to buy a headband, don’t forget to try it on. Headbands do not come in standard sizes. Just like shoes, it will be really uncomfortable if you buy one that does not fit you well.

tephone wire ponytail

Telephone wire ponytails are hair friendly. It doesn’t wrap around the hair too tight causing damage. All telephone wire ponytails that I have seen are plain and bare except that it comes in different colors and sizes. When I saw that this one has trinkets on it, I grabbed it at once! This was the only one left, lucky me! This one costs 69.75php.

Looks cute as a bracelet!

If you’re looking for cute accessories for your daughter, niece, god-child, or even for yourself :), go and check out Pink Box!

Now a short recap on Organic Rituals’ Long Wear Pedi.

Remember this?

It’s been 1 month and 1 week now and I still have that on my toes. Yes, I let them stay for that long just to be able to know how long their “Long Wearing Pedicure” really is.

For the past weeks, I did my regular routine: Work, run errands which have lots to do with walking, do household chores, and hang out with friends. No running, jumping, or going to the gym. I wore slippers, sandals, heels, etc. but I never worn any closed shoes. I was not careful about my nails, just doing activities the usual way.

And now, after 1 month and 1 week, my toes…

Chipped nail polish on both of my big toes.

Surprise! Can you believe it? It’s been more than a month and these are the ONLY damages! Super long wearing indeed!

Thank you!

Let’s talk about food! 🙂

Last week for our Valentine’s date, we dined at Makan Makan Asian Food Village. Formerly known as Makan Sutra.

(click photo for more details)

“The restaurant embodies the main cultures of Singapore through its diverse cuisines—Chinese, Indian, Thai, Malay, Filipino and even Western. “Makan” is a Bahasa Indonesian term for eating.”

The place is big, with many tables, chairs and couches but just enough that it does not look very crowded when full. The see-through kitchen is in the middle of the room so you can see what’s cooking. There’s also a guitarist/singer who serenaded us while we dined.

We sat at the side by the glass wall, near the singer, and with a nice view of the sunset at Manila Bay. So romantic! 🙂

I would like to commend how great their service was! The waiters were very friendly and accommodating. They are keen to their customers’ needs and they always serve with a smile.

To briefly summarize, the food was great! 🙂 We waited for about 15-25 minutes until all our orders were served.

Here were our orders!

Sautéed Dry Beef Hofan

Sautéed Dry Beef Hofan (150php) – Juicy thinly sliced beef with sticky rice noodles. It has the perfect blend of flavors with just the right amount of sweetness.

Chicken Pandan

Chicken Pandan (250php) – Yummy chicken wrapped in fragrant Pandan leaves.

Nasi Lemak

Nasi Lemak (160php) – Coconut rice with a medley of fried chicken, atchara dilis and potato pattie. The rice and potato pattie tasted great!

Beef (L) and Chicken (R) Satay

Beef Satay 5 pcs. (180php) and Chicken Satay 5 pcs. (150php) – A little smaller than I expected but it was good! The chicken goes best with the special peanut sauce!

For drinks, we ordered:

Lemon Barley

Lemon Barley (50php) – Lemon juice with bits of sweet barley. I don’t know what barley really tastes like but here it was a little sweet. It’s soft with a hard center so you have to bite it a little.

Bandung Chinchow

Bandung Chinchow  (95php) – Rose essence juice with black gulaman. A must try!

And finally for dessert…

Ice Kachang with Mango Pudding

Ice Kachang with Mango Pudding (90php) – Or in layman’s term – Singapore halo-halo! This halo-halo has different colored gelatin with Monggo beans and coconut in a perfect mix of ice, sugar and milk, topped with a big jelly mango pudding!

Food: 5/5

Price: 5/5

Service: 5/5

We had a great time we stayed there for 2 hours. 😀

Makan Makan Asian Food Village is located inside Manila Ocean Park.

Lash King vows to give his subjects longer and fuller lashes so you won’t have to choose between a lengthening and volumizing mascara. It also promises to give long – lasting, dramatic lashes.

Nails of The Day From A Secret Salon

Hi Everybody! Preciousang Valeria has moved to

Thank you!

Hello dearies! How were your Valentine’s Day? Single or not, hope it turned out well!

For today, I would like to share with you my nails of the day (NOTD) for Valentine’s and my thoughts and first impressions about this newly opened nail salon I went to.

The color I chose was not at all Valentine’s-ey, I wanted to try something different. Also, the salon only have 5 Orly nail polishes at the moment and the rest were just regular nail polishes.

Orly Green With Envy

Green With Envy is a fun, teal color, great for summer. It’s greener in actual. Think Incredible Hulk green, just a tad darker.

About the nail salon:

If you were wondering, I soaked all major CUTS that my manicurist gave me, thus the cotton around my fingers. When she did my first hand, I told her (calmly and in a very good way) that my fingers were stinging and maybe they were cuts due to her cleaning. She answered, “No Ma’am, I don’t see any blood.”. While she was cleaning the ring finger of my other hand, my finger already bled and she didn’t even notice even though she was cleaning that finger. So I told her, “Look, it’s bleeding“, she answered, “Oh, you’re right.”. And that’s all she said. No apologies or anything. She did not even believed me when I told her the first time. I knew the cuts were many because almost all my fingers stung when she rubbed my hand with alcohol. Actually, the woman beside me who was having a pedicure, yelled “ouch!” discreetly several times.

If you look close at my pinky, you’ll notice that bits of the polish were outside my nail and it’s lighter compared to my other nails. The manicurist forgot which nail were already two coats and which were one, I even have to remind her that this and this is still one coat.  She also accidentally hit/touched my wet nails so she redid it twice (she hit it twice).

Chipped nail polish on my index finger

I had my manicure the night before I took this photo, about 12 hours after. After the manicure, I went home, had dinner, slept, woke up and took this photo. I believe that Orly nail polishes do not chip this fast, that means there’s something wrong about the application or the cleaning.

The people who work at the salon were nice and friendly but there’s an attitude I think they need to improve. I was just done with my manicure, waiting for my nails to completely dry when some customers arrived but then walked away. There were still two available seats. After that, two attendants approached me and asked me (in a hurried and tensed manner) if I was still waiting for other services to be done. I answered, “None, I’m just waiting for my nails to dry.”. Then the other one asked me if I wanted to use their nail polish drying machine for an extra fee. I really felt that they wanted me to go away now because some customers might arrive, so I just requested that they apply a quick dry solution on my nails then I would be on my way.

They could have suggested the drying machine or quick dry solution immediately after she painted my nails. Suggesting it now (nobody mentioned the quick dry solution to me, by the way) only seemed that they really wanted me to go away immediately. With that experience, I did not complain or showed how disappointed I was.

I decided not to name the nail salon right now. This nail salon just opened their business a week ago, so maybe they still need time to adjust and get used on how things should be done. I’ll be giving them a second chance then will I reveal the name.

Right now, I’m still observing and taking care of the cuts the manicurist gave me. Hope it won’t get infected.

Do you have bad salon days too?
